Tips and useful recommendations during your visit in Ireland
We’re so grateful you’re making the journey to celebrate with us in the heart of County Tipperary.
For guests travelling internationally, there are two convenient airport options:
Shannon Airport (SNN) is approximately a 1 hour 15 minute drive from Cashel and offers seasonal direct flights from cities including Boston and New York.
Dublin Airport (DUB) has the widest selection of international routes and is approximately a two-hour drive from Cashel.
From either airport, you can rent a car, arrange a private transfer, or travel by public transport.
Train
Irish Rail operates regular services from Dublin Heuston Station to Thurles, the closest train station to Cashel. The journey takes just over an hour, followed by a 25-minute taxi ride to Cashel.

We’re excited to celebrate in one of Ireland’s most historic towns, with a rich heritage of food, hospitality, and of course, Guinness.
Few people know that Arthur Guinness was born on the grounds of what is now Cashel Palace. His father brewed ale for the Archbishop of Cashel, and a small inheritance from the Archbishop later helped Arthur establish what would become Ireland’s most famous brewery.
While you’re here, we’d love for you to explore some of our favorite local spots.
RESTAURANTS
Chez Hans
A local institution housed in a beautifully restored Victorian chapel, serving refined European cuisine with Irish influences.
Mikey Ryan’s Bar & Kitchen

A welcoming neighbourhood favourite offering classic Irish and European dishes.
COFFEE & BREAKFAST
Ladyswell Café
Coffee, pastries, and light lunches near the Rock of Cashel.
The Bakehouse
Fresh scones, hearty Irish breakfasts, and excellent coffee.
